We are just one week from the 2012 Royal Rumble, so I decided to do a Royal Rumble edition of Remember When.

Do you remember when Mick Foley had no one, not two, but three appearances at a Royal Rumble match?

It was the 1998 Royal Rumble match and it all started with Cactus Jack as #1. As the match wore on he got eliminated by his tag team partner Chainsaw Charlie.

Later on the countdown began to wind for the #16 entrant. When the buzzer sounded out came Mankind. He came in and eliminated the same man who took out Cactus Jack earlier, Chainsaw Charlie. He wouldn’t last very long, as he got eliminated a couple minutes later by TAFKA Goldust.

The 1998 Royal Rumble was reaching it’s end when it was time for the 28th entrant to show up. The buzz rang and out came Dude Love. He didn’t do so bad, in fact Love ended up being in the final four with Steve Austin, Faarooq, & The Rock.

I guess this is the advantage one has when they have more than one persona in WWE around January. Were they low on talent or something in January 1998? or maybe they just thought they could try something different that year?

This got me wondering, will we see the 3 faces of Foley this year at Royal Rumble? It would definitely be the Mark Out moment in Royal Rumble history and possibly of 2012.

Here’s a look of the 3 faces of Foley making their appearances at the 1998 Royal Rumble.
