smackdown[1]

Hi guys, I’m here with a review of this week’s Smackdown and I’d like to start by thanking my Sky+ box for allowing me to record Smackdown and fast forward through the ads and all the Raw recaps. Matches and segments will be rated out of 5. 1= poor, 2= decent, 3= good, 4= very good and 5= great. It is as simple as that. Ok then, let’s get started.

Match: Randy Orton v Damien Sandow

We start this week’s Smackdown with a match. Sandow cuts a promo while making his entrance. He mainly buries the crowd and says that he is the uncrowned World Champion. Both men exchange holds early on. Orton gets a 2 count with a snap suplex. Orton misses a knee drop and Sandow tries to take control but Orton throws him over the top rope. Both men are now outside and Orton drops Sandow on the barricade spine first. Both men get back into the ring and Sandow takes control by dropping Orton onto the ropes as they go to commercial. Sandow is still in control as they comeback from commercial. Sandow gets a near fall after an elbow drop. Eventually Orton makes his comeback. Cody Rhodes then appears and steals Sandow’s MITB briefcase which distracts Sandow who gets RKO’d and Orton wins. Rhodes leaves with Sandow’s briefcase.

Winner: Randy Orton.

Match Rating: 3 out of 5.

Segment:

CM Punk is in the ring. Punk talks about what Heyman taught him over the years. Punk says he knows what Lesnar’s biggest weakness is because it used to be Punk’s biggest weakness – the fact that Lesnar trusts Paul Heyman. Punk says Heyman’s biggest weakness is his ego. Punk then hypes the match at SummerSlam and says what he will do to Lesnar. Fandango then comes out and gets in the ring. He is attacked by Punk without saying a word. Punk hits him with a GTS and leaves. It’s safe to say that the Fandango experiment is over.

Segment Rating: 4 out of 5.

Match: Mark Henry & The Usos v The Prime Time Players & Wade Barrett

The Usos dominate early on by isolating Darren Young. Titus gets a cheap shot in on the legal Uso and then they isolate him. Eventually that Uso makes a hot tag to Mark Henry, who dominates and pins Titus O’Neil with the world strongest slam for the win.

Winners: Mark Henry & The Usos.

Match Rating: 2 out of 5.

Vickie Guerrero is backstage and ADR comes into her office. ADR wants to choose his opponent at SummerSlam because John Cena got to choose his. Vickie says that she’ll give him a week to think about it. RVD comes in and says he wants the match at SummerSlam and he’ll prove his worth by beating ADR later in the show.

Segment Rating: 2 out of 5.

RVD gets the better of Del Rio in the opening exchanges. Del Rio then stalls by refusing to get into the ring. Eventually Del Rio does get into the ring and tries to attack RVD while his back is turned but RVD counters and sends Del Rio into the turnbuckle. Del Rio starts yelling at the referee in Spanish and this causes a distraction and Del Rio hits RVD with a superkick to pick the win.

Winner: Alberto Del Rio

Match Rating: 1 out of 5.

Segment:

AJ and Big E are in the ring. AJ rants about Dolph Ziggler breaking her heart. AJ says she is ok because she has the Divas title. AJ shows the keys she has of Ziggler’s home. AJ says she was going to break in and burn everything, lol but instead she’s going to let go. Out comes Ziggler. Ziggler tells her that the locks have been changed. AJ then shows Ziggler his suitcase that she has stolen. Ziggler says everything in that ring is replaceable. AJ opens the suitcase and pulls out scissors and Ziggler’s wallet. AJ then cuts up his driver’s licence, passport, money etc. While this is going on Ziggler is making some great comments. A ‘you are a psycho’ chant breaks out. Ziggler continues to taunt AJ until she leaves the ring. As she leaves she gets speared by Kaitlyn.

Harper and Sweet T exchange heavy blows early on in the match. Then Rowan takes out Brodus Clay. Harper clotheslines Sweet T and Rowan hits the big splash for the win. When they comeback from commercial Christian is making his comeback and gets a near fall with a missile dropkick. Both exchange near fall. Swagger gets Christian in the angle lock but Christian counters and hit the killswitch for the win.

Winner: Christian.

Segment:

Damien Sandow comes out and wants Cody Rhodes arrested and fired. Rhodes appears on the big screen with the briefcase. He is standing at the Gulf of Mexico. He says he’ll give Sandow the briefcase if he comes to get it. Sandow eventually makes it there. He begs Rhodes not to throw it in. Sandow starts kissing up to Rhodes, saying he carried him when they were a tag team and he is smarter than him. Rhodes throws the briefcase in the Gulf of Mexico anyway. Sandow starts screaming for help and says he can’t swim. Sandow jumps in anyway and starts screaming for help again. Sandow makes it out minus the briefcase. Smackdown goes off the air with Sandow laying there.

Segment Rating: 5 out of 5.
